mateoRobert Kitley BSc(Hons) ACA – Director
Robert has been operating as a senior manager/director in the Maritime industry since 2011. A UK citizen (from London), he is a qualified Chartered Accountant with extensive financial stewardship and general management experience of multiple markets/industries and jurisdictions through international exposure working in Europe, the Middle East, the US and Canada. He has specific expertise and know how in areas of Investor relations & fund raising, M&As & Joint Ventures, Project Management and Leadership of organisations in excess of 1000 employees.


mateoJurij Vidmar – Crewing & Purchasing Manager
Jurij is a Slovenian citizen. He began his career in the Maritime industry at the start of the 1980s as a navigational officer. After finishing his career at sea he gained experience ashore through different positions in the commercial and technical departments of different shipping companies in Slovenia, Belgium and the UK. As a consequence, he has acquired know how, experience and expertise in many fields of shipping management. In his management roles he has been responsible for the co-ordination of different departments/offices & functions and in particular the smooth and successful operations of RoRo & RoRo Pax ferry lines including 10 years on the English Channel, one of the most demanding market in the world. Jurij is fluent in English, Italian, Croatian and of course his native Slovenian.

mateoJuan Cuenca Tech Eng (Mech) - Chief Operating Officer
Juan is a technically skilled and commercially focused senior mechanical engineer with 20 years’ hands-on experience in the maritime industry. Juan is an analytical thinker and effective negotiator with the ability to cultivate profitable relations for all stakeholders. During his career he has shown himself to be highly adept at leading a variety of operational teams, successfully introducing & executing new corporate initiatives and driving local and international business development efforts.

In terms of associated skills Juan is a qualified commercial diver with expertise and know how in the surveying of maritime vessels and watercraft, including (but not restricted to) the inspection of tail shafts, hull and machinery, as well as dry docking, alongside and on board repair & maintenance programs. He has a proven track record in the management of large-scale projects for major global companies, including Cepsa Spain, General Dynamics, the Chilean Navy, the Peruvian Navy, Allseas, Thome, and Maersk including the direct management of teams with the oversight of up to 250+ personnel. A Spanish citizen, Juan is bilingual in English and Spanish.

mateoAgar Gorecan – IT Manager
Agar is a Slovenian citizen based out of and managing Pulchra Mare’s IT hub at its office in Koper. After leaving the Nautical college with an Electronic Technical Degree he started his career at sea in the early 1990s as an Electronic Technical Officer on various types of vessels later taking the opportunity to acquire further skills to allow him to also work as an ROV pilot/technician in the Oil Industry. After moving his career onshore in the mid-1990s Agar became a Technical Superintendent for Ro-pax vessels operating in the English Channel & Mediterranean Sea. During this period, he became involved in the IT functions of these businesses leading to him to develop and build wholly new IT infrastructure to support the Ro-pax operations at that time.

Moving into IT management full time at the end of the 1990s Agar has since managed numerous IT projects (on shore and on board) while gaining extensive experience and know how that has included (but not restricted to) working in networking (e.g. Cisco (IOS), Mikrotik(ROS) & Ubiquiti(AirOS)), databases (e.g. Oracle, mySQL, Microsoft SQL), Operating systems (e.g. Microsoft and Linux) and various programming languages (e.g. VB and .net, Oracle Forms, PLSql, php….). Further to broaden his management approach Agar in 2014/15 has taken and passed Class auditor certifications for ISM, ISPS & MLC. Besides the Slovenian Language he is fluent in English, Italian, Croatian and has basic Spanish.


mateoGoran Zaic – ISM/ISPS Manager
Goran is a Croatian citizen. He initially began his career at sea and after ten years attained the level of Chief Mate. At this point Goran decided to work ashore and over the next 15 years served firstly as a surveyor for the Yugoslav Register of Shipping and then an auditor for Bureau Veritas. After this period and until now he has acted as an independent marine consultant. In this latter capacity he has also acted as a nautical surveyor for various Flag administrations including among others the Bahamas, Panama, St. Vincent, the Grenadines and Antigua & Barbuda. Apart from Croatian Goran is also fluent in English.
